I am currently awaiting the birth of our second chid and have been placed in the hospital for the remainder of my pregnancy. I have lupus and hemolytic anemia. I am not on bedrest, but I am severely anemic and have had numerous blood transfusions in the last month. I have another, regular blog over at cblankens.blogspot.com. This is a way to communicate what is going on with my health to my friends, family, and anyone else who may be pregnant and having severe anemia problems.

Christina,
It's Dulci. It's been a crazy few days, but I wante to let you know that we've been thinking about you - I sent your name to Holy Trinity Monastery via my brother, so they will remember you there, too. Cassiani was thrilled with the pictures of Petros, and the one of Pavlos, too. I sent a package to your house - I didn't have your parents address, so I hope Paul stops by periodically and picks stuff up. :) Let me know if it never shows up, OK?
Here's a few authors that really enjoy when want to read someting fairly intellectual, but not overwhelming....
Edward Rutherfurd (Sarum, The Forest, Russka - historical novels like Mitchner writes, but not quite to complicated)
Sharon Kay Penman (Here Be Dragons, The Reckoning - also historical novels, mostly about early England under the first few kings - very interesting, but after you read them all you see her literary devices getting old (repeated phrases, etc.) but fun the first couple of times around :) )
Also, well, try those out if you can, and let me know if you want me to keep trying. :)
Love always, my friend, and I'll call soon.

Yay! Thanks be to God!
I second Dulci's recommendations of Rutherford and Penman (and is this the Dulci that I know? in Ohio but formerly at my parish? )
